Sharon Hendrix Grows the Party

"I seem to always be in some kind of costume. Guess I like dressing up. Cap and I, married for 42 years, are pictured with the grandkids. The 8 of us pictured are from our time at ARCO. The other group are my tennis friends celebrating a big birthday of one of them. I am in the cow costume!

Sharon and her group started in Gas Accounting. “Since ARCO was great in giving us all opportunities to move up to other departments, I worked as an Audit Coordinator with the Exxon Auditors for ARCO projects in Alaska. Then I also worked on the CO2 Pipeline built from Walsenburg, CO to West Texas. I coordinated payments on that project supervising the people reviewing invoices based on the contracts. We were actually in the Engineering Dept since we needed access to the Engineers that wrote those contracts. It was a fun group of people too.”

Isaac Gian shares: “I truly enjoyed re-connecting with everyone from my ARCO Days. I spent 18 years at ARCO, from Gas Accounting to Auditing to Accounting Policy and Internal Control, to District Business Support to Plano Budget and Business Group.

I re-connected with some of my very close coworkers in Gas Accounting and that was really special.  I hope we can keep up with these reunions as they are a good part of my life and it was very special for me.

ARCO days were some of the best times of my life, as the Company was very special and it was like a family and not a large Corporation.”

Connie Perdue drove up from Austin to see Sharon and Cap at the recent Dallas Happy Hour. Connie and Sharon have stayed friends since their ARCO days. “We were in each others wedding and have shared our life paths since,” said Sharon.

It was a great turn out. I chatted with Steve Sills who actually went to Highland Park High School, my alma mater, and was 2 years younger than me. What we did have in common also is that he lives in the house he grew up in. My sister lives in the house that I lived from birth to 6 years old. My parents never sold.
