Currently SVP, Chief Reservoir Engineer, I have been with Kosmos Energy for over 13 years. Throughout my early time here, I was heavily involved in the company’s Ghana assets, spending a good deal of time in country. My current role focuses more on corporate issues – oil and gas reserves reporting, subsurface-related financing activities, and technical assurance for field development ideas – and limits my travel to mainly London. What keeps me coming back to work each day is the amazing collection of high-performing people at Kosmos and the projects and prospects we have. It is exciting to be at an E&P company like Kosmos and experience the highs (and sometimes lows!) of bringing online something big like our Tortue LNG project offshore Mauritania/Senegal or drilling successful wells in our big Jubilee field offshore Ghana.

My time at Kosmos, along with the 20 previous years at DeGolyer and MacNaughton, has given me the opportunity to travel to nearly 20 different countries on 6 continents. I have been fortunate to be in roles that have allowed me to see a lot of the world. Heather and I recently celebrated our 40th anniversary by spending two weeks in overwater bungalows in Bora Bora and Moorea, spending a lot of time swimming with sharks, stingrays, and a ton of interesting fish. So when retirement does come for me (I’m not saying when!), we hope to be able to continue to see even more of the world.

Our traveling in country often takes us to wine regions (Napa, Sonoma, Oregon, Paso Robles) or renowned golf spots such as Pinehurst and Pebble Beach, where my son Miles joins me for memorable rounds. We are always planning our next wine-tasting or golf trip. Based on the size of the wine cellar in our house, I guess you could say that’s a passion for us!

We have been traveling to Breckenridge the last few years, which has given us the opportunity to spend time with Joe & Tracy Sinner, Herb & Karen Vogel, and Scott & Mary Wilson, all long-time friends since our days at ARCO Alaska. This year was extra special as all our kids, Briehn, Devon and husband Sam, and Miles were able to join us for several days.

I have been a member of Advancial Credit Union for nearly 40 years, covering most of my working life! I currently volunteer as an associate director on the board of Advancial, participating in all things related to the direction and goals of the credit union.
